The brand Kawasaki has unveiled its spectacular ZX-10RR. After Jonathan Rea and Alex Lowes were able to test it at the World Superbike test at the Jerez Circuit, the brand has decided to reveal its new machine to the world.

The machine made a great impression during testing, featuring a new front fairing to help increase front stability and aerodynamics, as well as a new engine with optimized characteristics with which the Japanese brand aims to retain the Manufacturers’ Championship.

Aerodynamics is an area under advanced development at Kawasaki; the new fairing structure gives the motorcycle approximately 17% more aerodynamic downforce than the current model. Likewise, the design of the rear seat has been subtly modified to create a low-pressure area behind the rider. When combined with a windscreen that is 40 mm taller, a handlebar position that replicates that of Jonathan Rea’s race bike, and footpegs that are 5 mm higher.

Within the new fairing, the innovations continue with a TFT display (including Bluetooth smartphone connectivity), four riding modes selectable via buttons on the handlebars, and features developed for road use such as electronic cruise control and optional heated grips.

Likewise, the ZX-10RR features a new engine that offers a lower gear ratio in first, second and third gears to help make the most of the power; it also incorporates a new intake design, as well as a reduction in the weight of the valve assembly, although it will continue to use the rocker arm system to increase power and efficiency.

Changes have also been made to the swingarm pivot point, the front fork and the swingarm length with the aim of increasing both stability and traction, while the shock absorbers also undergo changes: they are firmer at the front and softer at the rear of the motorcycle.
