The new Honda Scoopy SH125i 2013 has arrived

September 17 is the day chosen by Honda to show us its redesigned Scoopy, both the 125cc and the 150cc models

The new Honda Scoopy SH 125i keeps all the virtues of its predecessor, and for 2013 it also receives important updates that improve it, among them a new frame that allows storing a full-face helmet under the seat, as well as a new, highly fuel-efficient engine.

On September 17 we will get to know in detail all the novelties of this new version of the popular Scoopy, which comes with two engine options: the SH 125i and the SH150i. They feature a new eSP low-consumption engine with an “Idle Stop” system. Both scooters will continue to be produced at the factory the Japanese giant has in Atessa, Italy.

This new engine is known as eSP (enhanced Smart Power), and it incorporates low-friction technology and the innovative Idle Stop system, which shuts off the scooter’s engine when it is idling, restarting it as soon as the throttle is twisted. Thanks to this system, it offers a consumption of just 2.11 liters per 100 km in the 125cc model.

In addition, it is Honda’s first scooter with 16″ wheels and a flat floorboard that has room to store a full-face helmet under the seat, thanks to a completely new and lighter chassis. It comes with center and side stands as standard and with optional ABS, not to mention the standard combined braking system.

This model has been on our roads since 1984, offered in many engine sizes, from the original SH50 to the SH300 model. It has always been very popular, and for example, in 2011 more than 23,000 units of the SH125i and SH150i were sold across Europe. In this video we exclusively preview the novelties of this model:
