The Junior World Championship and the Moto2 and Superbike European Championships (formerly FIM CEV Repsol) come with new features for the 2015 season, so let’s take a look at several confirmations we have received from the organisation of these championships.
Regarding the Junior Moto3 World Championship, this pre-World Motorcycle Racing championship will feature twelve races held over eight events; it has also been confirmed that the age range for participating in this category is from 14 to 23 years old, specifically with the maximum age taken as of January 1st of the corresponding year.
For its part, regarding the maximum engine rev limit, it will be 13,500 RPM, and the minimum combined weight (motorcycle and rider) will be 149 kg in 2015 and 152 kg in 2016. There will also be a maximum tyre allocation per race.
Meanwhile, in the Moto2 European Championship, there will be eleven races held over seven events. The category will use a single Dunlop tyre and there will be a maximum tyre allocation per race. Therefore, one of the major changes in this championship will be the arrival of Dunlop with rubber for the bikes, equalising the situation with the Moto2 World Championship and thus facilitating the move from one championship to the other.
The Superbike European Championship will feature eleven races held over seven events, while the category will use a single Michelin tyre and there will be a maximum tyre allocation per race. For its part, the Kawasaki Z Cup will feature six races held over four events.
And as a general change across all championships, grid entry for all machines will be with the engine switched off and pushing the bike from the last row. In addition, the use of fuel from previous seasons is not permitted.
