30 years of the Honda SH Scoopy and still going strong

Today we are paying a fine tribute to a scooter that remains the big sales star: we are talking about the Honda SH Scoopy, which turns 30 years old in the service of mobility and the environment. The different versions of the model add up to more than 1,100,000 units manufactured.

Today we are paying a fine tribute to a scooter that remains the big sales star: we are talking about the Honda SH Scoopy, which turns 30 years old in the service of mobility and the environment. The different versions of the model add up to more than 1,100,000 units manufactured.

Three decades have passed since the Scoopy concept was first introduced in Spain in 1984 with the SH80, a comfortable, easy-to-ride, modern and very quiet model. These qualities led society to begin considering the use of these scooters, a real revolution.

The evolution of the SH Scoopy has given rise to seven generations, with different engine sizes (80, 75, 50, 100, 125, 150 and 300cc). The model has created a new riding style of proven efficiency and wide acceptance, with more than 1,100,000 units manufactured across Europe. A good proof of this scooter’s success is that many versions of all the SH models in history can still be seen on our streets alongside the current model.

The Scoopy remains a social phenomenon and is still the best-selling automatic scooter in the history of motorcycling in Spain and Europe. The high wheel and flat floorboard have given it its own personality and versatility of use, with ample cargo capacity and riding possibilities on any terrain, as well as a wide range of users across ages and genders.

Keeping all these characteristics, the SH125i Scoopy introduced significant improvements in 2013, such as space under the seat to carry a full-face helmet, ABS, and extraordinarily low fuel consumption thanks to the incorporation of eSP (enhanced Smart Power) technology in its engine.

Many changes for one unique scooter.
