The brand Triumph presents one of its new motorcycles, the ROCKET X limited edition. It is based on the Rocket III, celebrating its 10th anniversary as the largest-displacement series-production motorcycle in the world. Specifically, a series of 500 individually numbered units has been created, with numbers on the side panels and decorated with an engraved aluminium badge.

It comes with a unique paint scheme, designed by the specialists at 8 Ball, featuring a combination of high-gloss black with stripes finished in metallic “sandpaper effect” filings. It also has striking black components, including the exhaust system, handlebars and mirrors, for a customised look.

For its part, the black wheels with silver stripes, hand-painted, are finished with meticulous attention to detail. The Rocket X Limited Edition, a descendant of the fiercest and most monstrous motorcycle ever built, arrives as the culmination of the style, exclusivity and riding experience historically associated with the model.

The Rocket X features the largest-displacement production motorcycle engine in the world, a three-cylinder 2,294cc unit mounted longitudinally in the frame. With no less than 221 Nm of torque at just 2,750 rpm, the Rocket X delivers extraordinary acceleration at any speed and in any gear.

The unstoppable engine and its precise fuel injection ensure that the Rocket X responds with power and speed at any speed and in any gear. The 12-valve engine has pistons with a 101.6 mm bore and 94.3 mm stroke, twin throttle bodies, and sensors for throttle position, engine speed, engine and air temperature, atmospheric pressure, gear engaged and speed. All this information is processed by a sophisticated ECU that determines the injection and ignition settings best suited to the torque curve in each gear.

The Rocket X doesn’t follow categories. With its footpegs in a central position and a relatively upright riding posture, the roadster cuts a powerful silhouette and offers a characterful ride that every motorcyclist should experience at least once in their life. Its ergonomics make the Rocket X surprisingly easy to handle in corners, and thanks to the comfortable rider and passenger seats, combined with the adjustable rear suspension, it covers long distances with poise and comfort. At the front, the Rocket X sports Triumph’s signature twin headlight to further emphasise the motorcycle’s imposing presence, while the careful balance between black and chrome components achieves an aggressive naked look.

The new Rocket X will be available at dealerships from February 2015.
