Official launch of the Honda CBR1000RR '12 Fireblade

Today Honda has chosen the day to launch the CBR1000RR, ahead of 2012. The date was picked to mark the 20th anniversary of the launch of the first 900cc version.

The new CBR1000RR from Honda is ready and prepared. A month ago we showed you some photos that were leaked, most likely by the brand itself, of the new thoroughbred of the family.

Today the curtain was raised and official information and photos were published.

This new Honda was launched to coincide with the 20th anniversary of the first launch of the CBR900RR. Small changes have been introduced, but quite noticeable ones in the chassis, which make the bike more manageable and precise.

The Honda was presented to the European public for the first time in two places simultaneously: at the SBK paddock in Imola (Italy) and at the 24 Hours of Le Mans (France).

The main features highlighted on the Honda are: a more aggressive style, the Balance Free rear cushion (referring to the rear suspension damping), BPF (Big Piston Fork) front forks, revised fuel injection (PGM-DSFI), twelve-spoke wheels, new instrumentation, a slipper clutch as standard, second-generation electronic HESD damping and the electronic C-ABS.

As for the price, it has not yet been revealed.

The bike will be available in three colour combinations: Graphite Black (completely black), Victory Red (mainly red, combined with a white front fender and black and white details) and Pearl Sunbeam White (the one shown on the cover photo).
