The mechanism itself is a bit complicated, so the best thing is to watch the video that explains how it works in a very interactive way, so don’t miss a detail and discover the new technologies of one of the most sporty models of the German brand, with 4 inline cylinders, 4 strokes, DOHC, 4 valves (valve actuation via individual lower rocker arms), displacement of 999 cc, liquid cooling, with a maximum output of 193 CV (142 kW) / 13,000 rpm and a maximum torque of 112 Nm (11.4 kg-m) / 9,750 rpm.
The emissions control is through a closed-loop catalytic converter, with a 350 W alternator and a maintenance-free 12 V / 7 Ah battery. The clutch, for its part, is a multi-disc anti-hopping clutch in an oil bath, mechanically operated, and the transmission is 6-speed constant-mesh. The frame is a twin-spar aluminium bridge type; the front wheel is guided by an inverted fork. The front suspension is electronically adjustable in compression and rebound (Slick mode), and the rear is a two-sided aluminium swingarm with a DDC central spring strut, electronically adjustable compression and rebound phases, and adjustable spring preload.
For the brakes, the front has been fitted with dual discs, 4-piston radial brake calipers, and the rear with a single disc and a one-piston floating caliper. ABS with 4 different modes.
A unique machine, the HP4.
