The Triumph brand has unveiled a special edition of the Street Triple R, showcasing the spectacular new arrival, the Street Triple RX, at the Cologne Show. This model combines an aggressive style and a devilish allure to create a radical and spectacular machine inspired by its supersport sibling.

The Triumph Street Triple RX features the most advanced components and new visual elements such as a razor-sharp tail like a knife, a new Aluminium Silver matt finish paint and refreshed graphics. The angled seat cowl comes from the Daytona, further emphasising the already aggressive presence of the Street Triple.

Its sharp lines are accentuated even further with the new Matt Silver paint and Diablo Red details, complemented by the spectacular race-inspired paint on the alloy wheels. The seat cowl, the keel and the dome complete the look and seal the RX’s statement of intent.

At the heart of the Street Triple RX is Triumph’s iconic three-cylinder engine. A 675 cc, 12-valve powerplant derived from the legendary Daytona 675 sportsbike, but carefully tuned to deliver a vigorous 106 hp and 68 Nm of highly linear torque, providing smooth acceleration and riding. Combined with a six-speed gearbox with close ratios, the Quickshifter semi-automatic shifter and an impeccable throttle feel, this engine delivers an exhilarating ride. All accompanied by the unmistakable intake and exhaust roar of Triumph, one of the most distinctive and charismatic sounds in the motorcycling world.

The ability of the Street Triple RX to suit everyone, from newcomers to seasoned riders, is not based on its engine alone. The carefully designed riding position distributes the rider’s weight perfectly between the wide handlebars, the contoured seat and the slightly rearset alloy footpegs, achieving maximum comfort and complete control. The refined chassis and dynamic balance rest on a distinctive eight-piece aluminium twin-spar frame and a two-piece cast subframe, along with a fully adjustable 41 mm KYB inverted fork offering adjustment of preload, compression and rebound, allowing you to fully tailor the front suspension to your riding style and conditions of the moment, and easily set it up for track or street.

Braking is handled by 310 mm front floating discs, supported by a sophisticated ABS system fitted as standard that can be switched off if necessary. The suspended stainless steel exhaust further reduces weight. In addition to the painstakingly calibrated chassis geometry, the handling of the Street Triple RX inspires instinctive confidence thanks to its stability and agility at any speed and in any situation.

Although one of the appeals of the Street Triple RX is its elegant simplicity and functionality, it also comes with a high level of standard equipment such as an electronic immobiliser, and if you want extra security you can complement it with Triumph’s U-lock anti-theft device, which can be stored under the seat.

The comprehensive digital instrument panel with LCD display includes a lap timer, programmable shift lights, fuel level, clock and gear position indicator, a large, easy-to-read rev counter and a digital speedometer. The display can also show the pressure of both tyres when the motorcycle is fitted with Triumph’s optional TPMS tyre pressure monitoring system.

The Street Triple RX blends the style and attitude of a naked bike with the agility and performance of a sportsbike, resulting in an package of impressive style. Triumph’s wide range of genuine accessories allows owners to further personalise their Street Triple RX. The new Street Triple RX will be available at dealerships from January 2015 at a price of €9,295 (RRP).
