The Triumph Thunderbird Commander, exceeding expectations
Today we are going to talk above all about the model, the Thunderbird Commander,</strong> which exceeds the highest expectations and gives the rider the chance to master any road with grip and character, thanks to its extremely powerful 1,699 cc parallel twin engine.
Since its official unveiling at the 2013 Milan Show, many had been eager for their first test ride of the new Triumph Thunderbird Commander and Thunderbird LT. The two new additions to the British manufacturer’s cruiser family, with their 1,700 cc parallel twin engine and the profound improvements made to their chassis to offer an even more enjoyable ride, will be available at the official Authorized Dealer network starting in March.
Today we are going to talk above all about the model, the Thunderbird Commander, which exceeds the highest expectations and gives the rider the chance to master any road with grip and character, thanks to its extremely powerful 1,699 cc parallel twin engine, its energetic and powerful look, and the relaxed riding position it offers.
Characterized by its dual front headlight, the Commander also stands out for its renewed look, more aggressive thanks to its “super wide” tires, tapered exhaust outlets, and numerous chrome details.
To further enhance its ergonomics and achieve an exquisite level of comfort on the road, Hinckley’s engineers have fitted it with triple-density seat padding and lumbar support for the rider; while its handling has been reinforced thanks to the redesigned steering and chassis geometry and the incorporation of first-class components such as a 47 mm Showa fork with gaiters and rear shock absorbers with five levels of adjustment.
The braking is handled by the dual 310 mm front floating disc gripped by Nissin 4-piston calipers and a 310 mm rear disc with a Brembo floating caliper, complemented by standard ABS to bring the motorcycle to a complete stop from 130 km/h in less than 65 meters. The result is excellent maneuverability and agile, stable, and precise handling, while also being comfortable and relaxed for covering long distances in an enjoyable way.
This new model, available in two different color combinations (“Lava Red” / “Crimson Sunset Red” and “Phantom Black” / “Storm Grey”) will be available in the Triumph Authorized Dealer network in March, with a recommended retail price of 18,095 euros.
