The San Carlo Honda Gresini CRT finally on track

This morning, at 10:38, the FTR bike with a Honda CBR 1000 R engine from the San Carlo Honda Gresini team took to the track at Imola for its first contact with the asphalt. This served to check technical aspects of the bike and to confirm that everything was in its place.

They still have two more days of testing on the Italian track, just before the team sets off for the Jerez circuit to hold the final official practice sessions before the start of the world championship at the Qatar circuit on April 8.

But it was today that Fausto Gresini’s CRT project took its first steps, also showing great potential. For the rider, Michele Pirro begins an important job within this new and ambitious project.

Statements from Michele Pirro:

I have finally been able to run with my CRT, the bike I will race in the next MotoGP World Championship. This was the real first contact with the bike, where we tried to verify that everything was working in the best way.

We have also been able to define the direction in which we need to take the development, and we have to make the most of these two extra days of training at the Imola circuit, so that we arrive in Jerez with as much information as possible.

We still have a lot of work to do, but we have great confidence in the project. The potential is very high and if we go in the right direction we can do very well. It is clear that after just a few laps we cannot draw conclusions, but we have a lot of enthusiasm and that will help us in this challenge.
