The brand Kawasaki has presented its new Versys 1000, which offers the ultimate riding pleasure. Alone or with company, around the corner or around the world, a unique combination of a 1000cc four-cylinder engine and an agile chassis is the perfect recipe for guaranteeing fun in any circumstance, with this model priced at €13,299.

We find a machine with a sporty design. Completely redesigned, it evokes sportiness and style while offering greater aerodynamic protection. The dual-headlight front makes it resemble the other latest-generation motorcycles in the Kawasaki range. A padded seat has also been fitted, denser and providing extra comfort for long journeys.

It also features lobed discs with latest-generation ABS. Larger front discs and new brake pads provide better braking feel. The new pads enhance feel in low-grip situations.

More specifically, we find a machine with a water-cooled, 4-stroke, 4-cylinder in-line engine, with a displacement of 1,043 cm3 and a DOHC valve system, 16 valves; plus a ø38 mm x 4 fuel injection system with oval throttle bodies, digital ignition, and electric starter.

The chassis is aluminium. With a 120/70ZR17M/C (58W) front tyre and a 180/55ZR17M/C (73W) rear tyre. Maximum power of 88.2 kW {120 CV} at 9,000 min and maximum torque of 102.0 N.m {10.4 kgf.m} at 7,500 min. The transmission has 6 speeds, and the clutch is a manual, multi-disc, oil-bathed unit. For braking, the front has dual lobed ø310 mm discs with 4-piston opposed dual calipers, and the rear has a lobed ø250 mm disc with a single-piston caliper.

The front suspension is an inverted ø43 mm fork with rebound adjustment and preload; while the rear is a horizontal mono-shock with gas charge, with rebound adjustment and remote preload adjustment.

A unique machine.
