Ducati is revealing more details about what will be one of its most spectacular machines, the 899 Panigale, as this bike features the new Superquadro engine, which has a revised bore and stroke ratio for broad power delivery, producing 148 hp with 10.1 kgm of torque.
Therefore, the engine is progressive and remains a standout element of the Panigale’s monocoque structure, achieving both an excellent power-to-weight ratio and agility on the road, with a dry weight of 169 kg.
The 1199 silhouette reveals the family’s DNA, and its perfectly integrated Riding Mode technology with Ride by Wire, triple ABS, DTC and EBC continues to showcase the benchmark ingenuity introduced with the award-winning Panigale, and the same structure can be seen in the 899. Ducati’s constant pursuit of perfection delivers, on this occasion, versatile performance that brings enthusiasts into the world of high performance with authenticity and style.
As for the colours in which it is available, we have the classic red with black wheels from Ducati, or a dazzling arctic white with red wheels.
The technical specifications of this model are as follows: monocoque aluminium frame, front suspension, fully adjustable 43 mm Showa BPF inverted fork with chrome stanchions. Also the front 10-spoke lightweight alloy wheel, 3.50″ x 17″; fully adjustable Sachs rear suspension unit. ABS as standard equipment, the rear brake with a 245 mm disc and two-piston caliper, ABS as standard equipment. The 17-litre fuel tank and dry weight of 169 kg.
For its part, the Superquadro-type engine: L-twin, 4 valves per cylinder, desmodromic, liquid-cooled. With bore x stroke of 100 x 57.2 mm, power of 109 kW (148 hp) @ 10,750 rpm, torque of 99 Nm (73 lb-ft) @ 9,000 rpm, and a 2-1-2 exhaust system with catalytic converter and 2 lambda sensors. Double steel silencer with aluminium end cap. Multi-plate oil-bath clutch with hydraulic actuation.
A marvel about which we learn more every day, but which we will be able to see in full at the upcoming Milan Motorcycle Show.
