Spies and Lorenzo eager for Indy MotoGP
Yamaha Factory Racing riders Ben Spies and Jorge Lorenzo arrive at Indianapolis eager after the summer break as they face the second half of the MotoGP season.
After two weeks of rest and a break from the MotoGP World Championship, the time has come to return to action and cross the Atlantic once again to contest the eleventh round of the MotoGP season at the Indianapolis Circuit, where the Yamaha Factory Racing riders land with good feelings and plenty of energy.
For this race, Jorge Lorenzo arrives aiming to improve on his position from last season. The leader is keen to climb back onto his M1 at Indy and fight to keep scoring very positive results, especially at this track, which is so legendary in the United States and where motorsport fans gather to enjoy pure spectacle. On this occasion the World Motorcycle Championship lands in Indianapolis, the two wheels take control, and Lorenzo, along with Pedrosa and Stoner, is one of the clear favourites for victory, although one never knows what the American lads may do here.
For his part, Ben Spies arrives at Indy after the disappointing weekend at Laguna Seca, with that crash caused by a problem on the Yamaha, and especially since he was running a good race in front of his home crowd. We’ll see how the weekend goes for him at Indianapolis.
Statements from Jorge Lorenzo:
I like riding at the Indy circuit. I have good memories here, from the podium in 2008 and 2010, and my great victory in 2009. Last year I had problems with grip during the race, but I hope we can improve it this season.
I have had a good rest, but I have also been training to make sure I am ready for this weekend.
