Simón, Viñales, Hernández and Silva ready and with news for Jerez

The Avintia Blusens riders are prepared for the second round of the Motorcycle World Championship season at the Jerez Circuit, without a doubt a very special weekend for all of them.

The Avintia Blusens riders are ready to kick off the second round of the Motorcycle World Championship season at the Jerez Circuit, in one of the cathedrals of the motorcycle world, and where Maverick Viñales in Moto3, Julián Simón in Moto2 and Yonny Hernández and Iván Silva in MotoGP all arrive loaded with strength and even more desire.

In the Moto3 category, one of the new features for 2012, Viñales arrives as the main reference, as championship leader and with great feelings after his victory in the opening round in Qatar. Although the 25 knows he cannot relax, as this has only just begun and the rest of the competitors will not let themselves be beaten so easily, so he has to get back into action again, this time at home, with his fans, his followers and plenty of support for the young Catalan.

Statements from Maverick Viñales:

Racing the Jerez G.P. is always special. You are at home, you feel the support of the fans very close to you, and you seem to have even more motivation. This year is going to be even more special because it will be the first time in my life that I arrive at a G.P. as world championship leader, and in Jerez too. You cannot ask for more.

The Andalusian track is technical, it combines slow and fast corners, and it is a layout that suits my riding style well. Naturally, we are very motivated and excited but also very focused. The championship has only just started, there are many races left and it will be difficult to maintain “the pace” all year.

At this moment our FTR Honda is a competitive bike, but we will have to keep working because the rivals are not going to sit idly by. I am looking forward to enjoying the “great atmosphere” of the Jerez G.P. and trying to get a good result that allows us to stay well placed in the overall standings.

For his part in Moto2, rider Julián Simón arrives on Spanish soil with plenty of strength, he knows his fans will be cheering him on from the grandstands, and that makes our 60 grow, so watch out for Julián because he is going to cause a lot of trouble in Jerez. Furthermore, this race brings changes for him and his team, as he switches to a Suter chassis for this round. Despite the modifications this entails, they have chosen to bet on this chassis and will give their maximum, with even more desire to fight.

Statements from Julián Simón:

As you can imagine, racing in Jerez motivates all the Spanish riders enormously. The fans carry us on their shoulders and give us an extra energy that we must take advantage of. I am really eager for the training sessions to begin because I am sure a new world championship is starting for me.

The Qatar result was not what we expected, but neither the team nor I are discouraged. On the contrary. It has motivated us to work even harder and to make concrete decisions. In Jerez I will have a Suter chassis, which I am used to riding and with which I hope to find the feeling I have not managed to find until now.

I am sure the Andalusian track will bring me luck and that, from this G.P. onwards, we will be more competitive. I am surrounded by people who believe in me, and that is a luxury. I am eager to repay that trust with good results.

In the premier category, Yonny Hernández and Iván Silva return to action eager to keep developing the CRT machine they have at their disposal for MotoGP. As if the work were not enough, the 22 has now decided to take this 1000cc bike a step further, as he will have a second bike with a carbon fibre chassis created by Inmotec, which he will test during the Grand Prix practice sessions, so there is news for Avintia Blusens.

While Yonny wants to stay on his own path, after that CRT podium in Qatar, he is now looking for improvements and to keep developing the bike, but he knows there is a lot of work to do. Little by little, however, the Colombian is carving out a great place for himself.

Statements from Yonny Hernández:

Although I am not Spanish, the fact that I race with a team that is, and that I spend much of my time in Spain, makes the G.P.s held in this country special for me too. I am really looking forward to the tests starting and to being back on track.

I arrive very encouraged by the Qatar result and I want to keep that line going. I know it will not be easy, but we are all working to achieve it. The tests we did at the Andalusian track before travelling to Losail went well and, now, we have more experience. We will have to see, but I am very motivated.

Statements from Iván Silva:

I am eager for the first training sessions to begin. I have many reasons to be upbeat, even though the first race did not go as well as I wanted. I will have a bike with a carbon fibre chassis to test, and I will also be able to keep working on the FTR to get the set-up I need to feel comfortable with it.

It is the second round of the championship, we have more hours on the bike, more experience and new things to try, so everything is positive. If we add to that the fact of racing at home with our fans “trackside”, the enthusiasm multiplies a thousandfold!
