Pedrosa, Rins and the Márquez brothers ready for Germany

The MotoGP World Championship lands this weekend at the Sachsenring Circuit, one of Dani Pedrosa's lucky tracks. Pedrosa is currently the leader of the premier class of the championship. It is also an interesting track for Márquez and for the two Álex riders in the Moto3 class.

This weekend sees the eighth round of the 2013 World Championship season at the Sachsenring Circuit, where Dani Pedrosa, Marc Márquez, Álex Rins and Álex Márquez arrive fully charged and eager for even more battle, especially the MotoGP riders, who are heading to a track that is a lucky one for both of them.

Pedrosa has good memories of the German track, and some not so positive ones too, but he has accumulated six wins in his personal tally between the premier class and the 250cc class. It is an interesting round where the championship leader will fight with his main rivals, and we will see plenty of action once again. For his part, Márquez comes in stronger, more recovered from his injuries, with clear progress in the fractures to his hand and foot suffered during the Assen Grand Prix.

The Moto3 riders come in with good feelings after a very intense race on the Dutch track, pushing to the limit, with both Álex riders as protagonists throughout the race, Rins finishing 3rd and Márquez 5th. Now they arrive at Sachsenring eager, although this circuit is not easy: for Rins it will be a new attempt to stand out, and for Márquez it will be a new track to discover at the controls of his machine.

Statements from Pedrosa:

This week we go to Germany and I hope we can have good feelings and have a good weekend. Sachsenring has usually been a good track for me in previous years and it is a circuit where I always enjoy competing a lot. It is a short track, where you spend a lot of time turning left, although the fastest corner is to the right, so tyre performance will be key. It will be important to maintain momentum and ride at my best level to keep fighting to win races.

Statements from Marc Márquez:

Assen was a hard and complicated weekend, but the important thing is that we learned a lot, we got another podium and scored important points. Now we go to Sachsenring, another new circuit for us in MotoGP. We will see what the weather is like there, as it can change a lot. It will be interesting to ride this track with this bike, because it is one of the smallest on the calendar and it already felt small with the Moto2, so I can’t imagine what it will be like with MotoGP. When we arrive, I will take my time learning the lines with my team, as we do every week, and we will try to do it as well as possible to achieve a good result.

Statements from Álex Rins:

The Sachsenring Circuit is a track I like a lot. The first section is quite complicated, very narrow and very tight. It is a bit Karting-style, but the second section is more open, longer and faster. Perhaps this is why I like this circuit so much, because it has a bit of everything and I adapt quite well to my riding style. Also, if we remember last year’s Grand Prix, we went quite well during free practice and qualifying. The problem arose during the race because of the rain. This year, we arrive after a third place, and having reached the podium in every race we have finished. So the goal is to fight for the top three positions.

Statements from Álex Márquez:

I have been to the German Grand Prix a couple of times, in 2010 and 2011. From what I have seen, it is a track with a slower first part and linked corners, where at the beginning we will surely struggle a bit to find the ideal line and how to match the corners with the throttle. From the downhill section the fast part of the track begins. We will try to follow the same line we have worked on at all the Grands Prix held so far and keep improving. At the Mugello test we took a very important step, since we found several things that helped us a lot to understand the bike and what I needed to go faster. That allowed us at Montmeló to keep pace with the leading group, although the end of the race did not go very well, and at Assen to adapt quickly, so the goal for Germany is to keep it up.
