Michele Pirro will have three days of testing with his CRT in Imola
Rider Michele Pirro will ride his MotoGP CRT today and for two more days, so the Italian will finally get his bike for 2012 going at the Imola Circuit, good news for San Carlo Gresini.
At the team presentation for San Carlo Honda Gresini in Milan, it was announced that rider Michele Pirro would finally test his MotoGP CRT, and that first big day is today, as the Italian will have his machine at the Imola circuit, where he will begin fine-tuning it ahead of the IRTA test in Jerez and the first race in Qatar.
For this first contact he will have three days, three days full of work to try to reach the same level as the rest of the CRTs, as it will be difficult with less training and with a rider who is a rookie in the premier class, so everyone will have to step up their game.
After this long wait that had Pirro worried, the day has finally arrived. It seems the problems were caused by necessary parts that had not arrived, which had to be assembled onto the new bike. A Honda CBR 1000R prepared by Team Ten Kate and with an FTR chassis, so a complete unknown for this private test and above all for the training sessions at the Andalusian track next week.
Statements from Michele Pirro:
We would not have been able to achieve much if we had gone to Aragon, because of the wind and the cold, so our project will start in Imola, in the city of Fausto Gresini.
I am eager to test the bike and work with my new team. In this test we are going to find out how the CRT responds and begin to understand how it works. The season will be very long and there will be many obstacles, but I am sure that with everyone’s support, our commitment and teamwork, we will achieve the best possible results.
