Maverick Viñales takes pole position for the MotoGP World Championship at Misano
Maverick Viñales takes pole position for the MotoGP World Championship at the Misano Circuit, ahead of Morbidelli and Quartararo

The MotoGP World Championship now heads to the Misano Circuit to fight for pole position, with both official practice sessions prepared and everything tested in FP4, where Fabio Quartararo was the fastest.
Q1 went first, with the riders who failed to make the top 10 combined times. In the opening minutes of the session the Espargaró brothers placed themselves in the two positions that go through to Q2, but in the end only Pol Espargaró got through, together with Miguel Oliveira, with the KTMs once again showing their strength.
And then came the moment of truth, Q2, where we saw Maverick Viñales quickly take the top spot first, although it did not take long for Quartararo to beat his lap times and move to the front, followed by a very strong Rossi at Misano.
With 4 minutes left we saw Viñales dominating again; the Yamahas have looked very strong on the San Marino track. And not only that, Maverick kept lowering his own lap times and managed to set 1:31.411, which gave him pole position for the race.
For his part, Morbidelli also put in a great lap, and placed himself 2nd, 0.3s behind the leader; completing the front row is Quartararo. Meanwhile the top 10 is completed by Rossi 4th, Miller 5th, Bagnaia 6th, Rins 7th, Mir 8th, Dovi 9th and Zarco 10th.
On to the race.
