Maverick Viñales closes the 2019 MotoGP pre-season test in Valencia as the fastest rider

The Valencia Circuit has been the venue for two days of the 2019 pre-season test of the MotoGP World Championship, so expectation is at its peak at the Valencian track to see the new developments coming for the next season of the Motorcycle World Championship.

Maverick Viñales has been the fastest rider in the test at Cheste, setting a lap time of 1’30.757 on the second day and being the best of this first contact of 2019. The 12 has therefore posted a good time on the Yamaha, so this first official training session starts well.

Behind him, Andrea Dovizioso placed second, 0.133s off the leader, and completing the podium of this two-day official session we have Marc Márquez, 0.154s behind. Meanwhile, Miller, Petrucci and Morbidelli also rode within a 1’30 lap time.

The top 10 was completed by Rins in 7th, Nakagami 8th, Rossi 9th and Aleix Espargaró 10th. Among the new riders, Bagnaia, the Moto2 World Champion, was 11th, Joan Mir 14th, Fabio Quartararo 17th and Miguel Oliveira 25th.

Following the first official MotoGP test at the Cheste track, the 2019 grid riders will carry out a new test at the Jerez Circuit on 28 and 29 November.
