Márquez and Pedrosa set for MotoGP's ninth round at Laguna Seca
MotoGP riders Marc Márquez and Dani Pedrosa arrive at the ninth round of the 2013 World Championship at Laguna Seca in different conditions, but both eager to fight. Although the Spaniard from the 26 is still physically affected after his crash in Germany. For his part, Márquez arrives as championship leader at a track he has never ridden before.
Riders Dani Pedrosa and Marc Márquez arrive this weekend at the Laguna Seca Circuit for the ninth round of the 2013 MotoGP World Championship, an event in which only the premier class riders will be in action. The two members of the Repsol Honda arrive in different conditions: Márquez will visit a legendary track for the first time and will do so as championship leader, while Pedrosa returns to action after missing the Sachsenring round and still feels some discomfort from his nasty crash in Germany.
Both riders will create a lot of expectation at this event, first to see how Pedrosa physically handles this race and such a demanding circuit, and also to see how Márquez adapts to a track he does not know and has never been to, so many eyes will be on the two men of Honda.
Márquez is already in the United States, while Dani will travel tomorrow, Thursday, instead of today, so he gains a day of work with his physiotherapist to improve the condition of his left collarbone.
Pedrosa’s statements:
After the disappointing weekend in Germany, I am happy to be feeling better and grateful that the collarbone is not completely broken, although a fracture is never the best thing that can happen. Now I will have to get back on track, see what condition I am in, and hope we can have a good weekend.
Márquez’s statements:
I feel very good at the moment. Even though the victory in Germany didn’t taste the same as the one in Austin, because Dani [Pedrosa] and Jorge [Lorenzo] weren’t there, I am very happy with the result. Now we are heading to Laguna Seca, with no time to rest. Everyone says it is a very beautiful track, but very technical. I have never ridden there, so we will start working hard from the moment we arrive to learn the lines.
