Loris Capirossi supports a charity event in Argentina
Rider Loris Capirossi attended a charity event held a few days ago in Argentina, where the Italian was a special guest at the RP10 in the municipality of Roque Pérez, about 130 km from Buenos Aires.
At the event, around 4,700 motorcyclists gathered, all ready to help as much as they could, raising funds for the town’s hospital. This event is becoming a benchmark, since its first edition seven years ago, which had only 48 riders, has now grown to more than 4,000 motorcyclists.
During the event, the Italian signed helmets and saw first-hand that the popularity of the MotoGP World Championship extends to many countries where the series currently does not race. The veteran is also a cheerful and fun rider with his fans, so the atmosphere was great throughout the event.
Below you can see Capirossi’s statements on various topics:
I have a contract for two more years with Pramac. I returned to Ducati the same year Valentino will race with the brand for the first time. For now I’m not stepping down; when I do, I’ll go home.
The 500s and the two-stroke bikes are close to my heart. Today’s racing motorcycles couldn’t be ridden without electronics, but so much electronics has taken away some of the fun; there isn’t the same excitement as before.
At events like this, we motorcyclists show that it’s not all about speed and competition, because we know how to be there when the goal is to help.
We’ll keep an eye on MotoGP.
