Loris Baz very close to NGM Forward Racing for MotoGP in 2015

Superbike World Championship rider Loris Baz still isn’t sure about his future for the 2015 season, although everything points to him switching championships, as we mentioned some time ago, but for now nothing is official or confirmed.

Baz was present at the MotoGP World Championship round at the Motorland Aragón Circuit, where he spoke about his current situation, commenting on the lack of agreement with the Aspar team and the ongoing negotiations with NGM Forward Racing, the squad he hopes to join next year to make his MotoGP debut.

The Frenchman has been negotiating and talking with several teams over this past weekend, but the closest deal is indeed with the NGM Forward Racing team, and if confirmed he would ride an Open Yamaha and form a tandem with Stefan Bradl. The truth is that Baz is somewhat disappointed with some reactions in the premier class, since he had a pre-contract signed with Team Aspar, but the team ultimately backed out because of his “height”-“wingspan”.

It’s incredible. Signing a contract and then finding out on the Internet that you won’t be riding is hard to believe. At that moment it was a bit depressing. These are things that shouldn’t be done and that have put us in trouble. But that’s how it went, and luckily we have found other solutions.

In the event that the Forward team deal also doesn’t come through, the Frenchman would have other options in both MotoGP and Superbike.

There are still many opportunities, both in MotoGP and Superbike. I didn’t leave the Kawasaki team to go to another Superbike team. Obviously that would be a great disappointment. I try to be as reasonable as possible, and even more so after what happened with the Aspar team. Nothing has been finalized yet, but I’m well on my way.
