Jorge Lorenzo's TT Off Road was a complete success
Rider Jorge Lorenzo enjoyed a great day of off-road riding alongside his fan club. With more than 200 followers from the '99 present, we were able to see incredible laps on the off-road track at the Circuit de Catalunya.
Today the Jorge Lorenzo Fan Club once again shone with another great event, the TT Off Road with the MotoGP rider was a complete success, both in terms of attendance and in terms of show and fun. Without a doubt, a great day enjoying the world of motorcycles.
The action began with the arrival of the Yamaha rider at the off-road facilities of the Circuit de Catalunya, accompanied by his great friend and Moto2 rider, Ricky Cardús, where his loyal Spartans welcomed him in style, as always showing their affection for the 99 and preparing for a day that would be very intense for everyone. After the welcome and the family photo with his fan club, the time had come for the participants to head out onto the track, since Lorenzo would be going flat out in the superfinal, so it was the turn of the rest of the riders.
The third session on track was extremely intense, with many journalists battling it out Maroto, Mela, Keko, Mejías and the rest from behind the barrier, as did Elena Isardo. There was plenty of luxury at this great event, and plenty of action in every heat, without a doubt a lot of motocross atmosphere, mud and fun. But the best part was the show Vico put on at the circuit: he couldn’t resist giving the front runners a little lesson and chose a clear victim… Mela.
Finally the big moment arrived: the superfinal. Jorge, ready, climbed onto his Yamaha and did a couple of warm-up laps, closely followed by Vico. The 71 was one of the stars of the event, with his antics, his games and his great sense of humour, and if you don’t believe it, ask Mela about his famous touch on the brakes. Thankfully they are friends, otherwise…
And the start of the superfinal with Lorenzo, Vico, Ochoa, Mela, Maroto, Mejías and the riders who qualified from the other rounds: 10 laps of the most thrilling racing, especially at the front, where the 99 and the 71 had an intense battle, back and forth, one moment you, the next moment me, champion against champion. In the end, however, the 2010 MotoGP World Champion came out on top and celebrated in style with his fan club, enjoying every minute and putting on a 100% show.
After that hard-fought final, the time came for showers, changing rooms and a hot meal, a sumptuous barbecue. While the prizes were handed out to the final winners of this TT Off Road, the best rider was Raúl Olmedo, who, besides the satisfaction of having ridden with great riders, also won two tickets to the Estoril GP, plus paddock passes and plane tickets. As always, Jorge looks after his own with lovely surprises. The runner-up was Josep Adell, who took home a trophy and a commemorative photo with the 99, as well as a unique experience.
As always, it was a pleasure to live these moments: the warm welcome from the whole fan club, just like Jorge, Ricky Cardús, Javi Vico, and great journalists such as Elena Isardo, Sergi Mejías, Mela, Maroto and Keko. A pleasure.
A complete photo gallery, interviews and much more from an event that was truly unique will follow shortly.
