Harley-Davidson Sporster Seventy-Two

The new Sporster "Seventy-Two" is the American brand's tribute to the 70s, when chopper motorcycles flooded the roads with their high handlebars and white-wall tires.

The new Sporster from the American brand is a return to the past, to the days of the first 70s choppers. This nod to that golden era, with its gleaming chrome, narrow white-wall tires and high handlebars, is the new “Seventy-Two“.

To achieve this, the bike has been painted in “Metal Flake“, a design element of the 70s that could be found on everything imaginable, from buggies to vinyl upholstery on furniture. In this way, the bike receives the Hard Candy Big Red Flake paint, which gives it a very special touch.

The logos are inspired by those that were hand-painted, reproducing their look on the top of the tank and on the wavy fenders. Its solo seat leaves much of the cut-down rear fender exposed. The engine is painted grey with chrome covers and a round air filter with a spherical cover. Its “peanut” tank completes that classic look.

These are the main features of the 2012 Seventy-Two:

  • Evolution V-Twin 1200cc air-cooled engine with sequential electronic fuel injection.
  • Engine painted with grey powder coating and chrome covers.
  • Available in Hard Candy Big Red Flake, Denim Black and Big Blue Pearl.
  • 7.9-litre “peanut” tank.
  • 16″ rear tire and 21″ front tire with white sidewalls.
  • Wheels with chrome and steel details.
  • “Mini-ape” ten-inch handlebars mounted on a two-inch-high riser.
  • Spherical air filter cover fitted with an eight-inch center bolt.
  • Staggered dual exhaust with chrome mufflers.
  • Solo seat with “Black Texture” vinyl cover.
  • Speedometer on the handlebar with chrome cup.
  • Rear fender bracket chrome.
  • Chrome rear shock absorbers with adjustable preload and “coil-over” suspension.
  • Forward controls.
