Give a motorcycle riding course this Christmas Honda

Honda is releasing gift vouchers so that this Christmas nobody is left without their motorcycle riding course. They are available for all ages and are very comprehensive.

If this Christmas you still don’t know what to give your loved ones, Honda makes it easy for you. The Honda Safety Institute (HIS) has launched a campaign so that anyone can buy a voucher to give one of its riding courses, suitable for children or adults.

The youngest, aged 6 to 11, can take a special course for children, which includes theoretical and practical training on a simulator, and then moves on to action on an asphalt track and more thorough training on an off-road circuit with 50cc and 70cc children’s motorcycles. The only requirement is that the child knows how to ride a bicycle; everything else (equipment and motorcycles) is taken care of by Honda. Moreover, since the children are accompanied by an adult, it becomes a very family-friendly course.

If you already have a B driving licence, and have chosen to convert it to an A1 and ride 125cc motorcycles, Honda also has a course for you. In it, you will learn prevention and response techniques for risk situations, control and handling of scooters in an urban environment, gaze and body positioning during manoeuvres, and the application of brakes according to the grip of the asphalt. This course does not teach you how to ride a motorcycle, but rather how to improve your riding technique. It includes the equipment and the motorcycle.

And if you already have a motorcycle, but want to improve your experience, the HIS offers three defensive riding courses. The basic one teaches you to manoeuvre at low speed, balance, agility or use of engine braking, among other things; the intermediate one teaches you to control the motorcycle with the throttle, balance techniques, slalom or braking in corners; and finally the advanced one, in which you learn to control the motorcycle in extreme situations, how to shift weight to improve riding, or braking techniques on any surface. All of them include the equipment and the motorcycle.

All courses take place at the HIS facilities in Santa Perpètua de la Mogoda, Barcelona, and you can find more information and the prices of each course on the brand’s website.
