Dani Pedrosa unstoppable in MotoGP, and completes the triple in Indianapolis

The MotoGP World Championship has held its event at Indianapolis with a clear protagonist, Dani Pedrosa, followed by Jorge Lorenzo and Andrea Dovizioso, while a masterful Stoner finished in 4th position.

The MotoGP World Championship has held its 11th round of the calendar at a complicated circuit like Indianapolis. The riders of the premier class have had fewer holidays compared to the Moto2 and Moto3 riders, but everyone was eager to return to action after Laguna Seca.

Although the race began with several unknowns, among them the participation of Casey Stoner after his big crash yesterday in the official sessions, he was finally declared FIT to take part, although the Australian went out injected in order to endure the pain during a very long race on a complicated track like Indy.

The race began with a great start from Dani Pedrosa, the pole-sitter, followed by Ben Spies, with the Repsol rider Honda being overtaken by the Yamaha rider, while Jorge Lorenzo stayed in third position and was even overtaken by Andrea Dovizioso. In this situation, Spies pushed with all his potential, taking Dani along with him, and leaving both of them to Lorenzo with his own battle with Dovi.

So we had two groups at the front, with Spies-Pedrosa, Dovi-Lorenzo and a slightly larger one with Stoner, Bautista, Crutchlow and Bradl. But Pedrosa had more pace in this race and showed it by overtaking the American, and started pushing with fastest lap after fastest lap, opening a gap behind. For his part, Spies kept pushing, he didn’t want to let the Repsol rider go and he pushed so hard that his engine couldn’t take it and broke, causing a big cloud of smoke with 22 laps to go.

With Spies’s retirement, we had an unstoppable Pedrosa who never lost the lead, despite some scares along the way, while Jorge Lorenzo tried to catch Dani, but it wasn’t possible to close the gap with the 26 and he held a good second position. Meanwhile, behind, we saw more fighting between Stoner and Dovi, where all the excitement of the race was, the battle for the third position on the podium.

Behind the battle for the CRT class was also very intense between Aleix Espargaró and Yonny Hernández, while Randy de Puniet had no luck, he had to retire due to mechanical problems, so everything was between the Spaniard and the Colombian, with some protagonists like Karel Abraham and Valentino Rossi, with Yonny finally taking 9th place and Aleix 10th, since Espargaró went off the track at the last moment.

In addition to the retirement of Spies, De Puniet, Pirro and Petrucci also retired, with Pasini crashing.

Without a doubt, an 11th round that tightens the MotoGP World Championship a little more between Pedrosa and Lorenzo. Now Dani adds his second victory of the season and his 40th win in GP racing, so now we have Lorenzo as the leader, very intelligent, achieving podiums, scoring in every race and adding up step by step; and Pedrosa 18 points behind and getting closer each time.
Closing the podium was Andrea Dovizioso, but today we also want to mention a brilliant Stoner, who lasted all the laps and achieved fourth position, very impressive for the Australian given his physical condition.

The rest of the Spaniards placed Bautista 5th, Espargaró 10th, Elías 11th, Silva 12th; so very well done to all of ours, all scoring points and with good feelings in a complicated race at Indy.

The fight is on at Brno, Pedrosa, Lorenzo and a Stoner now recovered for the next round, so maximum excitement for next week.

      saludos
