Batman's Scooter, BMW Concept C
This scooter, still a prototype, was presented at the EICMA 2010 Milan Motorcycle Show, but it seems it now has a date set for its introduction to society. It is estimated that by the end of this year we will be able to see it at our dealerships, coinciding with the date of the same show one year later, since it will be officially presented at EICMA 2011.
The C in its name comes from Commuter, a designation that BMW gives to vehicles designed to carry people from their homes to their workplaces.
It is said that it will go on sale in two different versions, whose specifications have not yet been revealed. What we can say in advance is that the one presented last year had a two-cylinder inline engine and a CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission) gearbox. As for engine displacement, there is maximum secrecy, and for more details from the factory of BMW, a electric version is also being researched, but in principle it does not seem that it will be launched at the same time as its siblings.
Aesthetically the motorcycle is groundbreaking, worthy of Batman himself; the striking tyres, the single-sided swingarm that also integrates the rear drive, and the front headlights with LED technology speak for themselves.
One of the things that draws a lot of attention is the use of cameras instead of mirrors, which provide images through two LCD screens on the instrument panel, and it will even come with an integrated GPS system.
As for its technical development, the most notable feature is the twin-disc front brake and radial mounting calipers, which make it the envy of many mid-range sports bikes.
