Andrea Dovizioso dazzles in the MotoGP race at Mugello, with Viñales 2nd and Petrucci 3rd
Rider Andrea Dovizioso has secured victory in the sixth round of the 2017 season at the Mugello Circuit, with Viñales 2nd and Petrucci 3rd.

The MotoGP World Championship was the last to hit the track at Mugello for the sixth round of the 2017 season at the Italian circuit, in a race that was expected to be thrilling after the Moto3 and Moto2 events.
The start was very good for Valentino Rossi, who overtook his teammate, Maverick Viñales, and took the lead of the race, while we watched the Ducatis of Lorenzo and Dovi move into the front group, along with the two Honda, of Márquez and Pedrosa. Meanwhile, Petrucci is also showing a great pace.
In these first laps we have seen a very strong Lorenzo, overtaking the two Yamahas and moving into the leading group, while Pedrosa was losing several positions, with Maverick taking the lead, and Dovi and Rossi battling for second place.
While at the front Viñales took the lead and pushed hard to break up the group, Dovi and Rossi continued their battle, and with Petrucci and Bautista coming through from behind like whirlwinds, passing rivals and closing the gap to the leaders, especially Petrucci, who moved onto the tail of his compatriot, Rossi.
With 10 laps to go, Dovi began to dominate the race after the pass along the main straight, where the Ducati overtook Mack’s Yamaha. Meanwhile, Rossi got right behind Maverick after Dovi’s pass on Mack. But the changes were about to come with greater intensity, as Petrucci managed to overtake Rossi and do the same to Viñales, leaving two Ducatis at the front with 8 laps to go.
Maverick pushed a little at the end, managing to overtake Petrucci with 4 laps to go, but Dovi was quite far ahead of the chasing group. In the final laps there were no further changes; we saw Dovi entering the main straight first, earning his first victory of the year, and bear in mind that Dovi had a stomach problem today that caused him a horrible night from Saturday to Sunday, unable to eat anything, so he was not in his best physical condition.
Victory for Dovi, followed by Viñales 2nd, Petrucci 3rd, Rossi 4th, Bauti 5th, Márquez 6th, Zarco 7th, Lorenzo 8th, Pirro 9th and Iannone 10th. The bad news is that on the last lap we saw Dani Pedrosa trying to overtake Cal Crutchlow, and he crashed, taking the Briton down with him in the Honda, and both ending up on the ground in that last gasp of the race. With this result, Viñales remains leader, with Dovizioso in second place 26 points behind, and 30 points ahead of Rossi.
On to the next race!
