Zaragoza and Petrashin with a great performance at the Junior World Championship in Sevlievo
Riders Jorge Zaragoza and Timur Petrashin had a great performance at the Junior Motocross World Championship, finishing fourth and fifth in their respective categories.
The Junior Motocross World Championship took place last weekend in the Bulgarian city of Sevlievo, where we were able to see the best Junior riders, including our home riders, who played a major role.
Although unfortunately we were missing a great rider who could not take part due to a crash, that was Jorge Prado, the young rider could not attend this event because of a crash in the European Championship finals, an incident that has sidelined him due to the injuries he suffered to his ribs, as well as bruises all over his body. Luckily, he is recovering step by step.
So without Prado, Jorge Zaragoza and Timur Petrashin were our hopes for the Junior World Championship in their respective categories, closing their participation in style with fourth and fifth place respectively.
Specifically, Zaragoza set the fastest lap time in the official 125cc practice sessions, and he was one of the clear favorites in the fight for victory. But by just three points he missed out on the podium, a strong fourth place that undoubtedly continues to build his experience and preparation. In the first race he got off to a regular start, as he got stuck at the first corner, but from 12th place he fought back in style, passing his rivals and staging the race’s great comeback, finally finishing sixth.
The second moto was better: he got off to a flying start, achieving fourth place in the race, and also fourth place in the Grand Prix standings, with Tim Gajser the winner after taking both victories.
For his part, Timur Petrashin had a very consistent and steady performance with his Kawasaki, adding two sixth places that placed him fifth overall in the 65cc World Championship.
