World Indoor Enduro Championship 2011: Taddy Blazusiak takes three out of three in Barcelona
At the end of the night race came the final of the second round of the World Indoor Enduro Championship in Barcelona, with Taddy Blazusiak as the main protagonist, although on this occasion the Pole did not get off to a good start due to some problem, which left the way clear for Mika Ahola to take the lead.
But the Finn would not stay in that position for long, as David Knight was coming on very strong from behind and managed to overtake him, although such effort could not stop the Pole, who was charging through like a cyclone, passing his rivals with great ease and without major problems, reaching the first place to take the third win of the night.
Behind the KTM rider from Poland, Knight held on to second place, under pressure from a very strong Alfredo Gómez, who was riding superbly in this third heat and secured third position, undoubtedly an unexpected result for the young Husaberg rider who has given everything on the track.
While the other favourites finished fourth for Ahola and fifth for Ljunggren, the Swede had a lot of work to do, as he had to fight back from the back of the pack, so a good result for the Husaberg rider in this third heat given the circumstances.
With this result in Barcelona, and bearing in mind that only one round remains in Lisbon (Portugal), following the cancellation of the event in Vigo, Blazusiak is the virtual champion, as he holds a 17-point lead over Ljunggren and 30 over Ahola, so unless something very strange happens, we will have a grand champion on March 5th.
Congratulations to Blazusiak! And in general to all the riders who took part in the various stages of the Enduro Indoor Barcelona event, it was a brilliant show as always.
We will keep watching the Enduro.
