Indoor Enduro World Championship BCN 2011: The night race for Iván Cervantes

The Night race is one of the most spectacular moments of the Indoor Enduro World Championship, and it can only be seen in Barcelona, when the Palau Sant Jordi goes completely dark and the 12 riders must give their all to get through the track using only the lights of their bikes.

On this occasion, we had some illustrious participants in this event, such as Iván Cervantes, who, after failing to make the finals, wanted to delight his audience with a good night race. Although he had problems at first, he gradually came back and managed to catch Marc Sola, taking the lead.

From that moment on, Cervantes had no rival, although in the final meters Mario Román got very close to the Gas Gas rider. In the end, our great enduro winner secured the victory, so at least he won’t leave this second round of the World Championship with such a bitter taste in his mouth.

He himself wanted to say a few words to all the attendees at the Palau Sant Jordi. First, he apologized for not being in the finals, as well as to his new Gas Gas team, since everyone was very excited to get to Barcelona, but the Catalan was unable to make it through to the three finals.

Behind Cervantes, Román and Thain finished, completing the podium of the night race.
