War between Talmacsi and Faubel at Phillip Island
The Australian Grand Prix of Motorcycle Racing could give a lot to talk about, since there are still two titles at stake, including the 125 cc one, where Héctor Faubel and Gabor Talmacsi are looking to become champion.
The first battle took place during the official practice sessions, in which the leader for now has been Talmacsi, and with great merit too, since the Aspar team rider suffered two crashes during the morning sessions.
On the other hand, the other contender Héctor Faubel had started the Grand Prix very poorly, since in free practice he only managed to place twentieth. Later, in the official sessions, he kept lowering his time until he reached first place, though he would then lose that position in favor of his teammate Talmacsi.
Apart from the riders fighting for the championship, there are also more Spaniards, including Sergio Gadea, who also belongs to the Aspar team and who for a few minutes was very well placed in second position, although in the end he had to settle for fifth place.
The next Spaniard was Pablo Nieto, who put his Aprilia in twelfth position, ahead of the Briton Bradley Smith and his compatriot Nicolás Terol. Two other Spaniards, Joan Olivé and Pol Espargaró, qualified immediately behind Terol, with Esteve Rabat two places further back.
There is still the second official practice session, where the pole man will be decided, so lots of strength to Héctor Faubel.
