Although Rossi wanted more, the three-time winner of this event, wanted victory, but on this occasion in 2013 it was not to be, and he had to settle for this second place, also a very positive result, competing with Carlo Cassina as his co-driver. Moreover, he did not lose to an unknown, as the victory went to the rally specialist Dani Sordo. The Spaniard secured this triumph at the Italian event.
Sordo took part in this Rally Show with a Citroën World Rally Team, giving his all to claim victory. He left the Italian 10.6s behind, adding one more triumph to his outstanding record.
Rossi also finished second in the Master’s Show, behind Sordo, while endurance racer Rinaldo ‘Dindo’ Capello, driving a Citroen, completed the podium at this event in the 2013 edition. The Italian surely already wants revenge for the next edition. For now, a good way to make use of his winter break from the two-wheeled world, the Yamaha Factory Racing rider has a lot to think about before the next MotoGP World Championship season.
