The X-Trial World Championship in Strasbourg has seen the championship leader, rider Toni Bou, once again come out on top this 2018 season in the fourth round, so another victory for the rider from Repsol Honda, who extends his advantage in the provisional standings of the indoor championship.

Another demonstration of Toni Bou’s technique, this time in France, in Strasbourg, where he prevailed in yet another demanding competition. Despite the arm pain he has been dealing with since the championship resumed in Montpellier three weeks ago, the rider for the Repsol Honda Team has achieved his goal of getting through the stages to compete in and win his fourth final of the year.

Bou, who was the best in the first qualifying round, reached the final by just one point, although the rival who challenged his qualification was the second-place rider in the overall championship standings, who failed to make the final. Miquel Gelabert, the breakthrough rider in Strasbourg, put up little resistance against zones that were even more technically complicated than in the previous stages. Adam Raga took third place.

With this victory Toni Bou increases his overall championship lead to twenty-six points. The next race will take place in Barcelona. The sport’s flagship event will be held on Sunday, February 4th at 5:00 PM.

Statements from Toni Bou:

I am very happy, very much so. Physically it has been a very demanding trial and, with my arm problems, I did not train all week so as not to overload them. It has been very difficult, because when you have problems, everything becomes much more complicated… Technically it has been very hard, especially the semifinal. Adam made no mistakes, and that is why I qualified by just one point. In the last zone I tried to get out on time, but I was a second short… I pushed and it worked out. I want to congratulate Miquel Gelabert on his first final and the podium. I did very good zones at the start to be able to build a gap. I am satisfied with how I went today to achieve the victory, because it suits me very well for the championship.
