Tommy Hill secures BSB double at Cadwell Park
Rider Tommy Hill has scored a very positive double at Cadwell Park Circuit, undoubtedly a great day for the champion, who strengthens his lead, with Brookes 2nd and Laverty 3rd.
Rider Tommy Hill has achieved a very important double for him at Cadwell Park Circuit, so the leader of the British Superbike Championship remains in front and with great strength; without a doubt, this second victory has given the championship a significant boost.
The start was again very good for Tommy Hill, who took the lead, but was quickly overtaken by Michael Laverty, who was chasing him, and so on until mid-race, when the champion tired of running behind Laverty and under the pressure of Lowes and Brookes, so he passed Michael, while just behind him Brookes overtook Lowes and tried to stop Hill’s breakaway.
Today the rider from Swan Yamaha was in another galaxy: he passed Laverty and opened a gap, achieving a comfortable distance that allowed him to stay calm without easing off. The battle behind him also helped his escape, as Brookes passed Laverty and moved into 2nd to try to attack Hill, but Hill was already more than a second ahead.
In this way, Hill, step by step, managed to open a gap and crossed the line without any pressure. Behind him, Brookes was 2nd and Laverty 3rd, with the rest of the top 10 being Alex Lowes 4th, Bridewell 5th, Westmoreland 6th, Lowry 7th, Hickman 8th, Harris 9th and Rutter 10th.
Plenty of excitement on track again. Undoubtedly, we have some very interesting races ahead until the end of the season, and now we have the overall standings with Hill and his 316 points after this double at Cadwell Park; with Brookes 2nd on 276 points and Byrne rounding out the top 3 with 255 points. Remember that Shane has not taken part due to injury.
BSB at its best once again.
