Today is Héctor Faubel's birthday. Happy birthday!
Today is the birthday of Moto3 rider Héctor Faubel, so congratulations and enjoy it to the fullest.
Today is a very special day for one of our riders in the Moto3 World Championship: it’s Héctor Faubel’s birthday, the Team Aspar rider is turning 29 and is doing so during a complicated season, but with plenty of enthusiasm and determination as always.
Our Faubel is one of the veterans of the lightweight class, where he races with the Aspar team on a Kalex KTM. Little by little they are improving their feel and results, but the 55’s journey in the Motorcycle World Championship goes back a long way, with a first full season in the 250cc class in 2002.
The intermediate class was his home until 2005, when he decided to take on the 125cc category, achieving good results and reaching the podium. He finished 2006 as the third-best rider, but his great year was the following one: in 2007 he was on the verge of the title, but lost it by just 5 points to his teammate, Gábor Talmácsi.
After these seasons in the 125cc class, he decided to move back up to 250cc for 2008 and 2009. In 2010 he took part in what would be one of the great revolutions of recent years, the arrival of Moto2 with Marc VDS, but things didn’t go well, and the following season he again chose to return to 125cc with Team Aspar, finishing fifth overall.
In 2012 hopes were pinned on him, and the novelty of Moto3 made him one of the favorites, but it hasn’t been easy. Still, step by step, as always, the 55 is getting closer to improvements and fights in every race to run further up the order, giving 100% as always. But today is about celebrating his birthday, his people, his family and his friends, and enjoying this day properly so he can arrive at the Indianapolis Grand Prix with his batteries fully charged.
Happy birthday, Héctor.
