The Mapfre Aspar Team MotoGP on the way to Misano
Rider Héctor Barberá and his Mapfre Aspar Team MotoGP squad head to Misano aiming to give 200%. It is a track where the Valencian holds fond memories that he hopes to repeat.
The Aspar MotoGP team arrives at Misano, a flat circuit with corners that lean toward simple. Left behind are the elevation changes of Indianapolis and the difficulty of its lines. The San Marino GP is a great race where all the riders come together, that is to say, there are no major differences.
Analyzing what happened at the last Grand Prix, for the Aspar team Héctor’s race was not a failure. A crash at the last corner does not undo the excellent lap times achieved on track.
Throughout the weekend Héctor made continuous progress, and now he arrives at Misano, a circuit where he already tasted victory in 2009 when he was competing in the 250cc class. Barberá is only thinking about continuing on his upward trajectory and going head-to-head with the factory Ducatis for position.
This is how Héctor Barberá assesses his situation:
Throughout the last Grand Prix we kept making changes that helped us improve. We worked a lot on my position on the bike, and we worked on the front end. All the tests were productive, and throughout the weekend I felt very comfortable, I noticed how I was progressing. I gained a lot of confidence and, although in the end the result didn’t go our way, I think we had a great race, you could say we took another step forward.
Now we head to Misano, a track that always suits me well and where I have very good memories. Last year with the 250 I won there, and I remember that victory with a very good taste in my mouth.
I’ve also achieved several podiums there. It’s a favorable track, where I’m going to go out and give 200%.
