The Freestyle MX Masters Barcelona and its Round 1 at the Palau Sant Jordi
The best Freestyle MX riders gathered last Sunday in Barcelona to leave everyone open-mouthed, as always the show came to the Palau Sant Jordi to dazzle with Torres, Pagés, Torronteras and Miralles, among others.

The Freestyle MX Masters of Barcelona was spectacular, with the Palau Sant Jordi 100% committed and with world-class riders we were able to see incredible rounds, with tricks that had everyone in attendance on their feet and left them breathless. Although it didn’t seem very difficult to achieve with the lineup presented for the Catalan event: Adam Jones, Dany Torres, José Miralles, Tom Pagés, Edgar Torronteras, Rémi Bizouard, Josh Sheehan and Taka Higashino.
Finally the day and hour had arrived, the FMX Masters Barcelona began with the introduction of the riders, one by one, to then give way to the first round in which the riders had 1 minute and 30 seconds to impress the judges without performing Backflips or variations, so they pulled out old-school repertoire.
The first to go out was Rémi Bizouard, who put together an interesting but not very brilliant series. He made a small mistake on one jump, which lowered his score. Perhaps opening the show on such a special stage took its toll, although his presentation on the Yamaha was good, earning 28 points in this round.
The next run was Higashino’s. The Japanese rider, making his debut on the Catalan track, was spectacular: very precise, very gutsy and very experienced. He left interesting tricks that placed him on 28 points, tied with Bizouard.
The third rider welcomed in Barcelona was Edgar Torronteras, one of the most decorated riders in the Catalan capital, who was presenting himself again before his home crowd. He scored 32 points to take the lead in this first round, making the audience roar.
The next was Tom Pagés, still remembered by everyone after his performance in 2010. He came out on track very eager, doing strong tricks to start warming up, earning 35 points from the judges. José Miralles was next out, scoring 33 points and once again amazing the Catalan crowd packed into the Palau Sant Jordi with tricks like the deluxe heart attack that placed him third in this first round.
The next run belonged to a favorite and debutant at the same time, Josh Sheehan. The young rider, who had just won the X-Fighters in Australia, surprised everyone with his technique, with jumps like the lazy boy that left him with 30 points in this first round.
The silver medalist at the X-Games, the American Adam Jones, had a rather unremarkable first round, with jumps like the nine o’clock or the double can that left him with 26 points, last in the round.
But without a doubt, another high point of the first round was the track appearance of the Sevillian Dany Torres, who with tricks like the pica piedra or the tsunami took the lead with 37 points.
Before reaching the halfway point of the event, it was time to see for the first time in Barcelona, an impressive Synchro consisting of two riders performing the same jump in parallel.
Onward to the second round.
