The CEV arrives at Cheste with 2 titles still undecided
The Spanish Speed Championship enters the final part of the season, but first it will have to go through Cheste and Jerez, so we still have two rounds left to enjoy this increasingly competitive Championship.
Furthermore, we are in for a lot of excitement in Valencia, since two of the three categories still have no champion, so the contenders in Moto2 and 125GP have their first match point to tip the balance one way or the other.
In 125GP record after record is being broken, as 62 riders have entered the race but only 44 will be able to line up on the grid on Sunday, so there will be a fight for times in practice.
For their part, the contenders for the crown are Maverick Viñales, the current leader with an 11-point advantage over Alex Rins, while his main rival in the previous races, Miguel Oliveira, is third, 12 points behind.
In the Stock Extreme category, defending champion Javi Forés will set out to finish off a dream season, although there are still things to be decided, such as the runner-up spot, since after Javi Del Amor’s zero in Albacete the situation has tightened, and the newly crowned European Superstock 1000 champion, Santi Barragán, could spring a surprise and increase the eight-point lead he holds.
In Moto2, the big star Carmelo Morales returns after his spell in the World Championship, but now he must focus on the CEV and try to become the first champion of the new category of the national speed championship.
To achieve that result he must defend his 7-point advantage over his main rivals, Kev Coghlan and Dani Rivas, but there are other riders who can join the fight for victory, such as Jordi Torres, who still retains some chances at the title.
Remember that TVE will broadcast the 125GP race live on La 1 on Sunday at around 12:00h, and will then give a summary of the Moto2 race.
We will keep a close eye on the CEV.
