The Moto2 World Championship riders shared the track at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya during this post Grand Prix test alongside the Suzuki MotoGP team and Ducati, so there were many riders on track in full action, although those from the intermediate class had restricted hours.

Specifically, Suzuki and Ducati were able to enjoy training for the entire session, while the Moto2 riders were allowed to join them for two and a half hours in the morning, and another two-and-a-half-hour session after lunch.

The riders enjoyed dry conditions for most of the day, but later the situation became complicated with the arrival of rain. The intermediate class teams finished their work at 16:30, before the rain came down during the final hour. Only Michele Pirro, Ducati test rider, continued riding on the wet track until the end of the session.

For its part, Suzuki continued preparing for the return to the premier class next season, with Randy de Puniet and Takuya Tsuda at the test, both working on the new engine, chassis updates and evolving software. Pirro, meanwhile, continued working on the Ducati.

test sam lowes

Meanwhile, in the Moto2 category, Jonas Folger set an interesting 1:45.600 aboard his Kalex of the AGR Team, a shame for the rookie who had been having a great race, but due to the incident involving Salom he had to run off track and lose the chance of a good result. Folger worked again with the WP suspension, but the brake tests and the test of a Dunlop front tyre planned for the afternoon were interrupted by the German rider’s crash at Turn 5.

Rabat and Kallio worked on fine-tuning their machines, and getting everything ready for the next round at the Assen Circuit, officially setting a 1:46.400; while Mika mainly worked on the new swingarm. For its part, Viñales’s Páginas Amarillas HP 40 tested different settings, which allowed him to ride faster than he did at the Grand Prix. His teammate Luis Salom was unable to take part in this test as he is in the middle of recovering from the fracture of his fifth finger sustained in the crash suffered on Sunday during the race.

test aegerter

Aegerter has had two very intense days, on Monday testing the MotoGP bike of Avintia Racing, and yesterday going out on track to work with his Moto2 team, Technomag CarXpert, work focused on tyre performance and refining his setup. Meanwhile, Sam Lowes has been paying attention to the tyres, which caused him problems at the previous round.

Suzuki and Ducati will continue today on the Catalan test track.
