Stefano Mesa with the DMS Racing Team in AMA SBK 2014

Colombian rider Stefano Mesa will race with DMS Racing Team in the US premier class, the AMA Pro Superbike Championship, after signing this week with the Florida-based team. DMS Racing will run Mesa on a Kawasaki ZX-10R for the entire AMA Pro Superbike season, which will kick off with the famous Daytona 200 next March.

The goal of the team and rider, both in their first full season in this class, is to grow together and gradually improve their results. Mesa has extensive experience, which makes him one of the most promising young talents in Colombian motorcycle racing. The young rider has competed in several US categories, such as USGPRU, MD250H and also AMA Pro Supersport.

Finally, last season he established himself as one of the best riders in AMA Pro SuperSport, winning a race and taking a pole position, and finishing third overall. And this is the year of the big step up; we will see how he gets on in the Superbike class, but he will have to work hard and take it one step at a time.
