Rodríguez, Guevara and Smith with the Wild Wolf BST at the 2012 CEV
The CEV is warming up its engines, and the teams already have their riders and machines eager to hit the track, including the Wild Wolf BST for Moto3 and Stock Extreme in 2012.
The Spanish Speed Championship is taking shape for the 2012 season. Soon to be national, the series that has seen so many stars of the Motorcycle World Championship pass through its ranks will kick off, so we need to keep an eye on the news for next season.
The Wild Wolf BST team, run by Juan Bautista Borja, one of our former 500cc and Superbike riders, already has its programme ready for the 2012 CEV across the various categories, with Josep Rodríguez and Juanfran Guevara in Moto3 and Kyle Smith in Stock Extreme. In addition, the team is preparing everything with a view to a possible step up to the world championship for 2013.
The new category, the so-called “Moto3” for the CEV after the definitive farewell of the 125GP, is Moto3, and in it we will have Josep Rodríguez and Juanfran Guevara, each on their own FTR M312 with engine Honda. For Rodríguez this has to be his great year. Without doubt the young rider had a complicated 2011, but with good results in the CEV and great impressions in the 125cc World Championship alongside Maverick Viñales on the BQR during some races.
For his part, Guevara has surprised everyone with his talent on the Aprilia of Team Murcia Pramac last season, and now the moment has come to attack the new Moto3 category. In addition, it seems in principle that both will have their wildcards planned for the Moto3 World Championship races on Spanish soil, so we will see them at Jerez, Catalunya, Aragón and Cheste for this 2012 season.
Meanwhile, in the Stock Extreme CEV category, the team has continued to back its regular man, Kyle Smith. The former Kawasaki Ninja Cup champion is ready to open the throttle in this second season with the Borja Sport Team, so everything is set for him to make life difficult for his rivals on his Kawasaki ZX-10R.
