Red Bull X-Fighters test day at Las Ventas

Yesterday we were at the training session ahead of the Madrid round of Red Bull X-Fighters, which takes place today at the Las Ventas Bullring. The 12 riders taking part were split into pairs and have started practising the tricks they will perform from 21:30 onwards.

All the riders praised the quality of the track, highlighting the landing zone for the jumps, in which they felt very comfortable.

Dany Torres told us at the press conference that he wants to surprise his audience, since riding at home is very exciting for him, although it makes him a little nervous. His challenge is to land the Back Flip nouble nack nack, something no rider has achieved so far.

The scare came from Robbie Maddisonn. The Australian lost control on one of the jumps and crashed heavily to the ground. A bad start in Madrid, he told us, but it is a mistake that will surely help him not to repeat it in the race. Robbie was last year’s winner of this event and says he feels at home in Madrid.

André Villa has a new trick ready for us. The Norwegian has named it Underflip Indian Air and will try it out in competition. He comes after a week’s rest with his family and, although he knows it will be difficult to beat Robbie or Dany, he will do everything possible to take points away from the American Nate Adams, who is missing this event due to injury.

Remember that if you haven’t got your ticket, you can still get one today at the box office, as only the mandatory same-day sales quota remains for the event.
