Raúl Fernández takes pole position for the Moto3 World Championship at Austria
Raúl Fernández has secured pole position for the Moto3 World Championship at the Austrian Circuit, with Arenas 2nd and Mcphee 3rd

The Moto3 World Championship was the first to hit the track at the Spielberg Circuit, at the Austrian GP, to fight for pole position, so there was maximum tension and excitement on the Austrian track as the small-bike class of the World Championship put on a show.
The riders who did not set the fastest lap times went out first in order to move on to the second session. That gave us Q1, with four spots available to enter Q2 and fight for the best positions on the grid. In the end, the four fastest were Rossi, Sasaki, Alcoba and Oncu.
And then came the moment of truth, Q2, the final battle for the grid positions, where we saw several riders take the top spot, with Vietti holding the honor zone the longest, but with many minutes still to go in the official practice session.
In the final minutes, Albert Arenas managed to beat the lead lap time and take over as pole leader with 1 minute to go, but many riders in red were coming up behind the young rider, so there was a lot of tension right up to the checkered flag, when we saw Raúl Fernández fly around the Austrian track to take pole with a time of 1:36.277, leaving Arenas just +0.011s behind, so the margin was incredibly close.
The top 10 was completed with Mcphee 3rd, Masia 4th, Vietti 5th, Suzuki 6th, Rodrigo 7th, Arbolino 8th, Rossi 9th and Oncu 10th.
On to the race.
