Pourcel and Herlings triumph at the MX World Championship in Fermo
The Motocross World Championship held its next round in Italy, in Fermo, where all of Cairoli's loyal fans enjoyed themselves to the fullest in the second moto, although the big win went to Pourcel.

Last weekend the round of the Motocross World Championship took place in Italy, in Fermo, where some 17,000 people attended this great event to enjoy outstanding motos in the MX1 and MX2 categories. On this occasion the best was Christophe Pourcel in MX1 and Jeffrey Herlings in MX2
Most of the crowd came to cheer on their great rider, Antonio Cairoli, but on this occasion the KTM man could not beat Pourcel, although he secured second place overall and the victory in the second moto, which sent all the spectators wild. For his part, third place overall went to Clement Desalle, while Gautier Paulin narrowly missed the podium, by just 1 point.
One of the most interesting moments was seeing Steven Frossard in moto 1. The Yamaha rider, who had been injured at the previous round, was not sure whether to take part, and in the end he decided to go out for the first heat, but the pain in his knee kept him out of the second moto to avoid unnecessary risks.
For our representative, Jonathan Barragán, it was a mixed day: the number 7 finished 14th in the first moto, while in the second things got a little more complicated and he ended the round in 24th place, and 19th overall. But he clearly showed that his bike has rhythm and that he will be a surprise at the World Championship.
For his part in MX2, Herlings shone once again, winning both motos in Fermo, and he is the new category leader overall with a 30-point lead over second place. Michael Leib finished 2nd on the final podium, with Jeremy Van Horebeek completing the podium in third. The negative side of the category was the falls of Tommy Searle and Joel Roelants in the first moto, which meant Searle could go out for the second session but in pain, while Roelants suffered a strong concussion and was out of this second session.
As for our representative, José Butrón had a fairly positive day. He and the KTM already know what it takes to make an impact in the World Championship: he finished the first session from 9th place, but with good feelings for the next moto, and that is exactly what happened, as the number 17 completed this second pass from 7th place, and overall from 5th place, so it was a good day for him.
