Pol Espargaró is the best in the MotoGP 2022 World Championship test at Mandalika
Rider Pol Espargaró was the fastest in the 2022 MotoGP World Championship pre-season test at the Mandalika Circuit.
The MotoGP World Championship held three days of 2022 pre-season testing at the Mandalika Circuit, so there was great anticipation to see the riders of the premier class on the Indonesian track.
The first day belonged to Pol Espargaró, the Repsol Honda rider completed 69 laps of the circuit, setting his best time on the penultimate lap with a lap time of 1:32.466, making the 44’s session very interesting. Behind him, Aleix Espargaró finished 0.471s off the pace of the leader. The top 10 of this first day was completed by Brad Binder in 3rd, Rins 4th, Quartararo 5th, Miller 6th, Viñales 7th, Mir 8th, Dovi 9th and Martín 10th.
The second day went to Luca Marini, the young MotoGP rider, who surprised everyone with a blistering time of 1:31.289, undoubtedly shaking things up on this second day at Mandalika. Meanwhile, Marc Márquez took second place, finishing just 0.192s behind, so there was a lot of parity in this training session. The top 10 was completed by Viñales in 3rd, Quartararo 4th, Mir 5th, Zarco 6th, Bastianini 7th, Pol Espargaró 8th, Martín 9th and Bagnaia 10th.
And finally today, the third official training session of the test took place, with Pol Espargaró once again being the benchmark, setting a time of 1:31.060 after completing 38 laps of the circuit. Meanwhile, Fabio Quartararo took second place, finishing just 0.014s behind the leader. The top 10 was completed by Aleix Espargaró in 3rd, Morbidelli 4th, Bagnaia 5th, Rins 6th, Viñales 7th, Zarco 8th, Brad Binder 9th and Álex Márquez 10th.
