The Catalan turns 39 at one of the sweetest moments of his career as a rider, since he has managed to become world champion, a title he deserved for a long time but has finally been rewarded for with a great season in SBK and that championship crown.
Without a doubt, Checa is one of the benchmarks of Spanish motorcycle racing on the international scene, and if not, just ask Max Biaggi, Marco Melandri and the rest of the riders who have felt his pressure first-hand, both in Superbikes and in MotoGP and the other competitions.
This weekend the last round of the Superbike World Championship will take place at the Portimão circuit, and honestly, victories on the Portuguese track would already be the perfect way to celebrate the birthday and a perfect season for the rider from Sant Fruitós de Bages.
