Nicky Hayden will return at Misano

haydenbrnomisano

Rider Nicky Hayden is back in the MotoGP World Championship after the injury he suffered while taking part in the X-Games. The American can compete at the Misano round after missing the Brno race.

Although his recovery has been rapid, the Repsol rider Honda is not at 100% and will have to be careful not to further damage his foot.

This is what the rider himself said:

I’m more eager than ever to get out on track with the other riders. I hated not racing at Brno.

I’ve been doing everything they’ve told me to: bone stimulators, lasers, ultrasound… everything to come back in the best possible condition. I hoped my recovery would be quicker. I still need crutches at the moment, but unless something unexpected happens, the plan is to race at Misano.

In addition, the former world champion will wear a special boot to take part in the race, although it will be very difficult given the demanding nature of the Italian circuit.

I’ve visited the doctors and I’m going to race with a special boot. I’ve trained in the pool and in the gym. Misano is similar to Laguna, although it’s completely flat: it’s a small, twisty circuit and you have to be aggressive. I enjoyed this track last season, and I still remember watching the riders on TV aboard the old 500cc bikes.

With Hayden’s return to work, the Repsol Honda team will be back at full strength, although the team’s problems don’t stem only from injuries, but also from the tyres, given the performance shown at Brno.

Let’s hope Hayden can recover as much as possible and that the problems come to an end for the Honda factory team.

We’ll keep a close eye on all the latest news from Honda.
