The Moto2 and Moto3 World Championship has held two days of 2018 pre-season testing at the Jerez Circuit, where we have seen several teams and riders starting to prepare the next season of action in both categories of the Motorcycle World Championship.

In this first contact, we saw Pecco Bagnaia was the fastest, setting a time of 1:41.873, so there is maximum anticipation at the Andalusian track, achieving this time in the final part of his training sessions, while in second position was Álex Márquez, one of the favorites for next year.

Márquez was second, followed very closely by another rider who has surprised everyone with his performance on the controls of the rookie “KTM”, and who was 3rd on this first day. Although one of the great moments expected was seeing Joan Mir, the Moto3 World Champion, take to the track on his first outing on a machine of the intermediate category. It was not easy for the young rider; he finished his first run in 14th place. The remaining rookies and newcomers closed the first day as follows: Sam Lowes (CCBM Evolution) finished 9th, Héctor Barberá (Pons HP40) 15th, Bo Bendsneyder (Tech3 Racing) 23rd, Romano Fenati (Marinelli Rivacold Snipers) 25th and Jules Danilo (SAG Team) 26th.

In Moto3 there were only 4 riders on track, with Arón Canet being the fastest, followed by Tony Arbolino (Marinelli Rivacold Snipers) in the category. Third was Nakarin Atiratphuvapat (Honda Team Asia) and fourth Kaito Toba (Honda Team Asia). Denis Foggia (Sky Racing Team VR46) also rode on track without a transponder.

And on the second day, held yesterday, we had Miguel Oliveira as the fastest, the Portuguese rider managing to beat Bagnaia and Márquez on this occasion. Meanwhile Canet was again the fastest in the Moto3 category, among the few participants at Jerez.

Oliveira (Red Bull KTM Ajo) set a lap time of 1:41.518, beating Francesco Bagnaia (Sky Racing Team VR46) and Álex Márquez (Estrella Galicia 0,0 Marc VDS). Fourth place went to Brad Binder (Red Bull KTM Ajo), ahead of Danny Kent (Speed Up Racing) and Mattia Pasini (Italtrans Racing). Mir, who is still in his adaptation period, finished in 16th place.

On to the next test.
