Maximum action from the pilots of the Cradle of Champions in Alcañiz

The Cuna de Campeones closed its fourth points-scoring round of the season with two wins for Valencian rider Álex Escrig in the MiniGP 140 category at the Alcañiz circuit. In the lower categories, victories have been shared between the Andalusians Roberto García and José Antonio Rueda in Minimotos, and between Izan Guevara and Marcos Ruda in MiniGP 110.

In the MiniGP 140 category, young rider Álex Escrig took a double and pulled away at the front of the standings, while alongside him we saw different riders on the podium. In the first race, Marcos Uriarte and Aitor Andújar were the two riders who stepped up to second and third on the podium, with Adam Íñiguez fourth, Adrián Huertas fifth and Ekaitz Uria sixth. In the second race, Andújar overtook Huertas by just one thousandth of a second in the fight for second place. Íñiguez finished fourth, ahead of Javier Miguel and José Suárez.

Álex Escrig is the new leader of the top category of the Cuna de Campeones with 161 points, 36 more than the second-placed rider, who is now Adrián Huertas.

Meanwhile, in Minimotos, the winners were Roberto García and José Antonio Rueda, who won in Alcañiz. Minimotos category leader José Antonio Rueda, who had scored practically a full set of points in the previous races, saw his lead cut by around ten points after suffering technical problems in the first race of the two held on the Alcañiz track. Roberto García won by eight seconds over Ángel Piqueras, second, and David García. Rueda recovered in the second race, however, with a narrow win over García by two tenths after 12 laps. Third in this second race was Ángel Piqueras, ahead of Jesús Torres, Hugo Millán and Heikki González.

José Antonio Rueda remains leader of the overall standings but with a 13-point lead over the second-placed rider, who is now Roberto García.

Meanwhile, in MiniGP 110, Marcos Ruda and Izan Guevara once again shared the victories. The Mallorcan Izan Guevara and the Valencian Marcos Ruda split the two wins contested during the Cuna de Campeones race weekend for the third time this season. Óscar Almonacil and Daniel Muñoz were the other two riders to reach the podium, in their case in third place.

Marcos Ruda continues as leader of the standings with a two-point advantage over Izan Guevara, who is second.

The next Cuna de Campeones round will be the weekend of 3 August in Corral de Calatrava (Ciudad Real).
