Mattia Pasini takes Moto2 pole in Australia
Rider Mattia Pasini has secured the Moto2 pole at the Phillip Island Circuit, Australia.

The Moto2 World Championship was the last to head out onto the Phillip Island track to fight for pole position of this Grand Prix, in somewhat complicated conditions, as rain intermittently appeared, but without affecting things to any great extent. Still, all the riders went out from minute 0 to set reference lap times just in case.
At first we saw Morbidelli take the lead, but then Mattia Pasini managed to get ahead of his compatriot. Meanwhile, we watched Xavier Simeon go down and be taken to the medical centre after the incident. As for the front of the field, things stayed the same, with Schrotter quite close to the Italian’s times.

And then came the moment of truth, the final 8 minutes of the session, in which we saw Pasini continue to control the situation with the time he set at the start of the practice, specifically a 1:33.300, while Marcel Schrotter has taken second place, just 0.008s behind the leader. The top 10 is completed by Oliveira in 3rd, Binder 4th, Morbidelli 5th, Marquez 6th, Nakagami 7th, Aegerter 8th, Raffin 9th and Luthi 10th. The rest of our riders finished Vierge 12th, Axel 14th, Navarro 18th, Edgar 22nd, Fernández 24th, Viñales 25th, Lecuona 26th.
On to the race!
